Jemcourt

Abestu, Patron Saint of Music

Jemcourt is a band concept I’ve been toying with for a while now. If I can gather a group of talented musicians, It’ll become a reality, but for now, It’s a cool little pet project with some unique foundations.

The genre will be a mix of metal and hard rock with some Arabic and Spanish influence. The cheery individual to the right is Abestu–a mascot character for the band. His name is the Basque translation of “Sing”. The majority of my DNA comes from the Basque region of Spain, which would be pretty cool to incorporate in something like this.

Lore and Legend

Being a writer first and foremost, this band will have lots of background lore and fun stuff like that. Above are two album concepts. The Four Horsemen will be included into the “mythology” of the story. A lot can be done with this, and I hope to make this thing real so I can start playing around.

Influences for this come from bands like Ghost, The Tea Party, Led Zeppelin, and some others.

Sonically inspiring songs include:

Ghost

  • Mummy Dust
  • Majesty

The Tea Party

  • The Bazaar
  • Sister Awake

Led Zeppelin

  • Kashmir
  • The Battle of Evermore

So stay tuned for potential updates on this project.
