My New Publishing: The Recognition

I’m publishing a second book. It’s a stage play script in book format, kind of like when they publish a Shakespeare play as a novel and annotate it; I won’t be annotating this one though.

The Recognition is a Black Comedy/Tragedy piece that takes place in an unspecified time period in Spain. Six actors are putting on a play dubbed The Tragedy – a kind of basic Shakespearean tragedy play that also takes place in Spain during the Inquisition.

We flip back and forth between the stage and the dressing rooms, where the actors learn of an award that will be given out soon – kind of like a Tony award for stage plays. This one is called The Recognition, and it drives the actors to poison and conspire with each other in order to get it.

This is a commentary of the pursuit of fame, as well as the nature of human lust for power and… well… recognition.

It is part one of The Trinity of Perdition, which is comprised of three stage play scripts that all deal with sin. I was inspired by Shakespeare, Edgar Allan Poe, and many other famous writers of things you study in English class.

Expect it sometime this summer, and don’t worry, it won’t be as expensive as the Plight of Steel… or lengthy. It is a play after all.

You can read more about it on my website, and don’t forget to follow me on social media for updates on this project.
