Quarantine… Will it affect EWIST?

I’ve been wondering this for a while now, ever since we were forced to stay in our houses. Will this quarantine be lifted by the time we need to start shooting? I honestly don’t know.

My plan for the moment is to continue with production as if we will be able to film. If, when the time comes, we are not, however, I will be forced to delay production until the summer of 2021. By then, I’m sure, we’ll be out of this lockdown.

I’ll have to do this due to school. I’ll be graduating from grade 12 next year, meaning school will be done after that. During the time I’m still in it, though, I won’t have time to film, and neither will my cast and crew.

I have big plans for after grade school. After EWIST, I’m going to be making another film called The Firing Row, which centers around a teenage street gang entirely made up of girls. It’s violent, crude, and insane, and I’m really excited about it. For now, though, I’m making EWIST, and I have to get it made somehow, even if production is delayed.

This is not an ideal situation in any way. I hate having to delay or even cancel projects – EWIST won’t be cancelled, I guarantee that – and it seriously ruins my plans to have to do so. Everyone, however, is really pissed about this quarantine right now, and nobody’s plans are working out. I know most of Hollywood is shut down right now, and the arts are seriously struggling.

So for the time being, all I can do is hope. Just know that regardless of how this works out, this film will be made. I’m a very stubborn person, and when I want to get something done, I will.
